You Are Empathetic and Caring |
You are able to be a foundation for other people... but you still know how to have fun. Sometimes your emotions weigh you down, but you generally feel free from them. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are incredibly wise and perceptive. You have a lot of life experience. You are a natural peacemaker, and you are especially good at helping others get along. But keeping the peace in your own life is not easy. You see things very differently, and it's hard to get you to budge. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person. |
You Are Seductive and Ruthless |
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. |

Your baby is still gaining weight -- about an ounce/ 28 grams a day. She weighs nearly 6 pounds/ 2.7 kilograms and is 19 inches/ 45 centimetres long from head to toe. You may begin to feel an increased pressure in your lower abdomen and notice that your baby is gradually dropping. This is called lightening or engagement, and your lungs and stomach will finally get a chance to stretch out a little -- breathing and eating should become easier. However, walking may become increasingly uncomfortable -- some women say it feels as if the baby is going to fall out. Also, you may still feel as if you need to go to the loo all the time. Stock up on those last minute nutrients with our eating well guide.
The good news is that by the end of this week, your pregnancy will be full-term and you could give birth any day now. (Babies between 37 and 42 weeks are considered full-term -- a baby born before 37 weeks is premature and after 42 is post-term.) At your weekly visit, your doctor or midwife may check to see if you've started dilating (when the cervix opens) and effacing (when the cervix thins). The midwife will also check what position the baby is in, in order to estimate how far the baby has dropped into the pelvis. This information will be entered into your maternity notes so that your midwife in will know the position of the baby when you go into labour.
• Note: Experts say every baby develops differently -- even in utero. These fetal development pages are designed to give a general idea of how a fetus grows in the womb.

How your toddler's growing
By now your child will begin to set goals for himself. He'll have particular ideas about what he wants to do, like pushing his toy car down the path or fitting all the pieces of a puzzle together. He'll also care about the results - you'll see he's pleased when he's successful and frustrated when he's not. It's all part of his burgeoning independence. (True. .True . .Haha. .Muka Binget lau tak accomplish. .)
Your life: dealing with fickle toddlers
Does your child want to hug you one minute and push you away the next? Don't take hir vacillating needs for closeness and self-assertion personally. They're all part of growing up. As his world view broadens, your toddler will take more of an interest in playing with other children. He might imitate how an older sibling plays soccer or follow after other kids as they play tag. ( Yes. . Follow his two bad example uncles)
Birthday wishes
It's not long now until that birthday ... try working out what toys, equipment, and clothing you'll need for a two year old so you can let your friends and relatives know. If you're planning a party, involve your toddler in choosing who to invite and ask what sort of cake he would like, then she'll know what to expect on the day. It's best to keep the event fairly low key at this age, as two year olds are easily overwhelmed by too much excitement and hoards of guests.(I'll keep that in mind)
My 1st Child
(Noor Alya Hanani)
First-born children usually feel a whole raft of different emotions when a younger sibling is born. Excitement, anxiety, love, hate, pride and jealousy to name just a few. The trick, as a parent, is to allow your child to express all of these, good and bad, at least in words. Without this outlet your toddler's perfectly understandable negative emotions are much more likely to lead to physical outbursts -- hitting, pinching or pushing -- or feelings of displacement. Before the baby is born, give your toddler permission to feel cross or jealous by telling her that a lot of toddlers feel this way. Once the baby is born tell your toddler often that your love for her has not changed. She is still as special and lovely as she ever was. When she yells that she wants the baby to go back, acknowledge that she wishes he would disappear sometimes or that she could have more time with you and that this is hard for her. Ask friends and relatives to be sensitive to your toddler's needs and to spend some time talking to her rather than with and about the baby when they call. If your toddler does hit the baby you will need to be clear that this is unacceptable. You could say, 'No hitting allowed'. But remember to give your toddler another way to express herself, perhaps by saying, 'Show me how you feel with this cushion/doll/play-dough' and then watch while she shows you. Let your toddler decide when the baby gets attention at least some of the time. You may say, 'Let's play this game together and you let me know when you think the baby needs a feed'. No toddler, given this responsibility, will allow a younger sibling to cry for long and her pleasure that you trusted her will bring in its wake more loving feelings towards her sibling.
